[03] STORY

The project According to Ophelia was created by a group of artists, designers and engineers as part of the diploma theses of students of Multimedia engineering at University of Žilina – Jaroslav Dvorský and Štefan Miša. The project is represented by the eponymous multimedia production consisting of a theatrical performance of the world-famous play Hamlet performed in a modernized version based on the point of view of Hamlet’s friend Ophelia. The play sets out to portray the story through the eyes of a woman and in a 21st century setting. The play incorporates elements of multimedia art in the performance of technological installations displaying video art and visual effects. The According to Ophelia project itself was preceded by a series of pilot projects, namely the Women in IT event and the Canto Ostinato concert, which tested the proposed multimedia installation.
